POSITION SUMMARY:

Focus Interpreting is seeking an English - Spanish Medically Certified Interpreter to join our team in San Diego. In this vital role, you will provide professional interpreting services in medical settings, ensuring effective communication between English-speaking healthcare professionals and Spanish-speaking patients to support quality patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate communication during medical appointments, accurately interpreting conversations to ensure that patients understand their medical conditions, treatment plans, and healthcare options. Translate medical terminology and documentation with precision while assisting healthcare providers in delivering clear and informative care. Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations, maintaining patient privacy at all times. Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant medical documents and familiarizing yourself with specific terminology related to the patient’s condition. Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on medical terminology and interpreter best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

Fluency in both English and Spanish, with exceptional oral and written communication skills. A valid Medical Certification for Spanish interpretation is required. Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse patient populations. Prior experience in medical interpreting is preferred.
