A growing forensic engineering firm is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Forensic Engineer to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on investigative work, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to build a career in a specialized field with uncapped growth potential.

In this role, you'll apply civil and structural engineering principles to uncover the root causes of failures in buildings and structures. Your work will include site investigations, material testing, premises liability evaluations (such as slip-and-fall incidents), and assessments of building safety standards. You'll prepare clear, detailed reports that explain what happened and why. Occasionally, you may support litigation efforts, including expert witness testimony (prior experience is a plus but not required).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations of structures, building components, and accident sites.
• Perform failure analysis and evaluate compliance with building codes and safety standards.
• Investigate premises liability cases, including slip-and-fall incidents and other safety hazards.
• Prepare clear, detailed technical reports documenting findings and conclusions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on complex cases and litigation support.
• Travel regionally to project sites as needed (company covers expenses).
• Stay current on forensic methodologies, codes, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred but not required).
• 2+ years of industry experience in forensic engineering or related investigative work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (report writing is key).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Comfortable with occasional court testimony (training provided if needed).
