Metrohm DropSens has established a team in Asturias dedicated to developing innovative products for the Metroglas product line. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Hardware/Firmware Engineer (C/C++ for Embedded Systems) . Your responsibilities: Development of embedded firmware and hardware for electrochemical and optical sensors (C/C++ based). Design of experiments, perform simulations and set-up of measurement systems for functional testing. Optimization of signal processing in electrochemical and optical sensors (ADC's, DAC's and filtering). Contribute to improving development processes and ensuring knowledge transfer within the team. Your profile: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Electronics, Computer Science or a comparable qualification. Work experience as a hardware/firmware Engineer with 3+ years of experience. Proficiency with C and C++ programming for embedded systems. Experience in PCB design, preferably using Altium Designer or similar tools. Good understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex -STM32 or equivalent). Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g. FreeRTOS). Understanding of hardware interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485) and communication protocols (USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC). Proven hands-on experience with embedded systems, debugging and testing equipment. Working knowledge of Python or Matlab. Experience with source code management tools (Subversion, Git, etc.) and CI/CD workflows. Experience with the elaboration of HW / FW specifications . Strong technical and analytical background with perfect problem-solving skills. Structured working style with attention to detail . Good written and verbal communication skills. Good English and Spanish language skills, knowledge of German is preferable.
