Hospice Volunteer Coordinator

Acclaim Home Health is seeking an experienced and organized Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to lead and manage our hospice volunteer program. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all volunteer activities while ensuring alignment with hospice philosophy, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.

The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in supporting patients, families, and the interdisciplinary hospice team through effective volunteer engagement and program development.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee all hospice volunteer activities and services
  • Recruit, interview, train, and orient hospice volunteers
  • Schedule and coordinate volunteer assignments to meet patient and program needs
  • Provide ongoing supervision, support, and evaluation of volunteers
  • Ensure volunteers understand and uphold hospice philosophy, mission, and values
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining volunteer-related policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and hospice regulatory requirements related to volunteer services
  • Maintain accurate documentation, volunteer records, and service hours
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to integrate volunteers into patient care
  • Participate in hospice meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and community outreach as needed
Qualifications
  • Prior experience coordinating or managing volunteers in hospice, healthcare, or a related setting required
  • Strong understanding of hospice philosophy and end-of-life care
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Compassionate, professional approach when working with patients, families, and volunteers
  • Proficiency with documentation systems and basic computer skills
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally as needed
