Description BDR Solutions, LLC (BDR) supports the U.S. Federal Government in successfully achieving their mission and goals. Our service and solution delivery start with understanding each client's end-state and then seamlessly integrating within each Agency's organization to improve and enhance business and technical operations and deployments. Role Overview: The Technical Writer applies expertise in writing technical materials and documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established documentation standards and style guides. This position requires technical knowledge and responsibility for specific phases of documentation, including design, creation, and quality checking. This position is primarily remote with travel as requested. It requires availability during EST business hours. US Citizenship is required with a Public Trust or the ability to obtain one. (Military Veterans encouraged to apply) Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to): * Writes technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions.
* Checks documents for spelling, grammar, organization, consistency, and content.
* May assist in layout work.
* Ensures that documents follow the appropriate style guide and editing workflow process.
* Leverages and implements where possible the Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Information Processing (FIP), Government Printing Office (GPO), or commercial documentation standards as appropriate to the assignment.
* Performs more independent thinking and difficult tasks
Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and/or equivalency
* Six (6) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency
* Familiarity with standards for documentation formats, editing workflows, and configuration management.
* Ability to work closely with technical editors, technical writers, or authors to ensure repository publication processes are followed.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
* Ability to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies: * Active Public Trust security clearance
* Prior experience writing documentation within a federal government or defense environment.
* Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask. In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation including, but not limited to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
