Wide/Large Format Print Estimator

Project Managers with experience estimating in the wide format print industry who wish to grow their knowledge and career are highly encouraged to apply!!


As a national leader in the wide format print industry we rely heavily on our Print Estimators. We are currently looking to hir a professional responsible for calculating the costs associated with large-scale printing projects. This role requires a detailed understanding of the wide format printing process, materials, and production techniques. Wide Format Print Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for wide format printing jobs, including materials (vinyl, fabric, paper, etc.), labor, machine time, and finishing processes like laminating, mounting, or cutting.
  • Job Specification Analysis: Reviewing client requirements and job specifications, including artwork files, to determine the most efficient and cost-effective production methods.
  • Vendor Communication: Working closely with material suppliers and external service providers to secure competitive pricing and favorable delivery terms for necessary components or outsourced tasks.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Liaising between sales teams, production departments, and clients to ensure clarity, manage expectations, and communicate layout specifications, material choices, and project timelines effectively.
  • Pricing and Profitability: Analyzing existing pricing for competitiveness, tracking project profitability, and contributing to cost-saving initiatives and workflow improvements.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilizing print estimating software and potentially design software like Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, to facilitate accurate estimates and production planning.
Wide Format Print Estimator Qualifications:
  • 2+ years proven experience estimating experience with wide format print
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of various wide format printing technologies, materials, inks, and finishing techniques.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing job specifications, calculating costs, and ensuring accuracy in all aspects of the estimation process.
  • Communication & Negotiation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams, and the ability to negotiate effectively to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to identify potential challenges, troubleshoot issues, and adapt to changing project requirements or tight deadlines.
  • Industry Experience: Typically requires 2+ years of experience in a wide format printing environment, ideally with signage and/or vehicle wrap production experience.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is generally required, with some companies preferring candidates with a degree in graphic design, print management, or a related field.
