LanceSoft is seeking a travel Sterile Processing Technician for a travel job in Cody, Wyoming.
Job Description:
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technologist required.
• EPIC and SPM (Sterile Processing Microsystem) experience required.
• Knowledge and proper use of sterilization equipment including pre-vac steam sterilizers, low temperature hydrogen peroxide (VPRO), sonic cleaners, biological readers, and washers.
• Follow all policies for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing equipment with proper PPE.
• Maintain inventory, rotate stock, order implants/supplies, and follow PAR levels.
• Utilize physician preference cards and case cart system accurately.
• Assemble instrument trays according to SPM tray recipes and instrument count sheets.
• Perform and document biological testing of sterilizers in SPM.
• Conduct daily equipment checks and maintain proper documentation.
• Utilize appropriate wrapping techniques for instruments (disposable non-woven wrap, paper/plastic peel packs).
• Participate in departmental in-services and assist in training new staff or rotating employees.
• Assist with cleaning and disinfecting endoscopy equipment as needed.
• Ensure instruments are cleaned, restocked, and inspected daily in all patient care areas.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, departmental cleaning procedures, and equipment instructions for use.
• Attend online sterile processing professional certification course within 2 years of hire and maintain certification.
• Participate in call rotation to cover closed department hours as required by OR leadership.
